ClickNote is a local-first browser extension for attaching private notes to web page elements.
What data ClickNote stores
- Notes that you create.
- Page identifiers needed to reconnect notes to web pages.
- Per-site disabled preferences.
- Language and interface preferences.
- Per-tab note mode state while the extension is active.
What ClickNote does not do
ClickNote does not transmit notes to a remote server, sell data, share data with third parties, use analytics, inject advertising, or sync data to an online account.
Where the data is stored
Data is stored locally using the browser extension storage area (chrome.storage.local or compatible Chromium storage APIs). If you remove the extension, locally stored data may be removed by the browser.
Export and import
If you use the export feature, ClickNote creates a JSON or TXT backup file on your device. If you use the import feature, ClickNote reads the file you selected and restores stored note data locally.
